“150 YEARS OF the BIRTH OF JOSE GUADALUPE POSADA " Jose Guadalupe Posada was
born the 2 of February of 1852 in the city of Aguascalientes, Ags. Their parents
were Germa'n Posada of office baker and Petra Aguilar, being the penultimate one
of nine brothers. In 1870 after studying his first letters under the direction
of their Cirilo brother, rural teacher, attended the Academy of Drawing of
Antonio Varela and worked like apprentice of litógraf in ei factory of Trinidad
Pedroza, place where it begins to receive prestige by his satirical
illustrations in the Jicote.
