“125 YEARS OF the NATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATORY " From ancestral times, the
man has wanted to know how it is the Universe. Old the Mexicans studied the
movement of stars, comets and the eclipses, that related to ritual his
cosmogonía. An important mexica site of observation, was without a doubt, the
Hill of Chapultepec. The interest by the Pleiads, Venus and Jupiter, continued
during the colony and the European introduced to Mexico a variety of measuring
instruments with which it was possible to make a pursuit of celestial phenomena
with great presición. The telescope also arrived at America: the eye expanded
its horizon, which allowed to investigate the celestial vault more thoroughly.
