“60 YEARS OF the HEALTH SECRETARIAT " the 18 of October of 1943 the decree
signed by the then president of the republic was published in the Official
Diaraio of the Federation, Manuel Avila Camacho, by who it was created the
Secretariat of Salubrity and Attendance, today Secretariat of Health. The birth
of this close institution for the town of Mexico, Was from the fusion of the
Department of Public Salubrity, whose origin is in article 73 of the
Constitution of 1917, promoted by doctor Jose Maria Rodriguez, and the
Secretariat of created Public Attendance in January of 1938 by President Lazaro
Cardenas
