FIRST DAY OF EMISSION calima comes from the Nahuatl "Colliman", word to which two are assi9ned to him meaning, "place con~uered by our grandparents" or "place where it dom1nates the ( God of the Fire", ttiis last one makes reference direct to the volcano.
politically it is divided in ten municipalities: Armory, sights on, comala, coquimatlán, cuauhtémoc, Ixtl, ahuacán Manzanillo Minatitlán. Tecomán and villa de Alvarez.
