   " ABOLITION OF SLAVERY  "

During the four months of the war who led Miguel Hidalgo, were announced three decrees that forbade slavery.
The first was signed in Valladolid (now Morelia) on 19 October 1810, by Don Jose Maria Anzorena, mayor of Providence of Valladolid appointed by the insurgents, in compliance with the provisions of Hidalgo. Order the immediate release of the slaves so they could enjoy the same privileges as free men, and stated the confiscation of property and the death penalty as a punishment to all those owners who do not comply. Forbade slaves to buy or sell property or writing about people "not required by humanity or mercy dictate, among other provisions..
