The fututo of the nation is based on education, science and technology of its own, this conviction led to a group of women and men to propose, in 1970, creating a body headed direction and sense of political science and technology.

The initiative was well received, giving rise to the creation of the National Council for Science and Technology, CONACYT, by decree of the Federal Executive, published in the Official Journal of the Federation on December 29, 1970. Today we commemorate the first 40 years of this important event.
