The FIFA World Cup, is one of the biggest sporting events in the world. The headquarters of the XIX World Cup will be South Africa, a country of breathtaking natural beauty, characterized by a succession of vast, open country grasslands, rolling hills, rugged mountains, lakes, coastal scenery, sophisticated and bustling cities. There are also two cross-border parks, a national reserve, famous throughout the world, the Kruger National Park, and four sites of exceptional natural and cultural importance, declared World Heritage by UNESCO
The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), the leading world authority on football, was founded in Paris on May 21, 1904. The first international football tournament organized by FIFA was carried out in the London Olympics in 1908 in 1912, made the second championship in the Olympic Games in Stockholm. This tradition continued till after the Olympics in 1938, which established the FIFA World Cup competition in Uruguay. Since 1930, there have been 18 World Cup: Uruguay, 1930, Italy, 1934, France, 1938, Brazil, 1950, Switzerland, 1954, Sweden 1958, Chile 1962, England, 1966, Mexico, 1970, Germany , 1974; Argentina, 1978, Spain, 1982, Mexico 1986, Italy, 1990, the United States, 1994, France, 1998, Korea-Japan 2002 and Germany 2006.
