The Mexican Petroleum Institute (IMP) has built over 45 years, national development, strengthening the oil, chemical and petrochemical plants in Mexico.
Created by presidential decree on August 23, 1965, as a decentralized body of public interest and educational and technical-dominated culture, the IMP has contributed to Petroleos Mexicanos Innovations, products and technologies. Originally had 300 employees and facilities totaling 10 thousand square meters of construction, currently laboratories, pilot plants, cubicles and service areas spread over 77.5 hectares of land and 135 thousand square meters of construction, housing almost 5000 researchers, specialists and support staff who perform daily in technological research projects endorsing his fundamental vocation.
